The toll free number, 1-888-344-4400
If someone calls the number with an interest in joining ABATE, they
will be sent an information packet, and application, and a brochure.
They will also receive a letter telling them what chapter or chapters
are closest to them and the contact information.
Safety RidersCourses
Rider courses are not available through ABATE though we highly
recommend that motorcyclists take a beginners riders course or an
advanced riders course. Rider Training is the Best Accident Prevention
Tool. Call 1800-446-9227. This is the Motorcycle Safety Foundation's
Referral Service.
Joining ABATE
On the web site you can type in your information and print out the
application. Mail the application with your check or money order to the
ABATE State Office. Or if you already know what chapter you are
joining, ask them for an application. If you want more information see
above about the toll free number. Join
Meetings
No one in our organization is required to go to meetings. We have
meetings at a chapter level to learn about what legislation in New
York is good for motorcycling and what is not.
Then we take what ever action is necessary. We also promote motorcycle
awareness and safety and plan events & runs. Do for ABATE and for
motorcycling what ever you have time to do.
Membership
Problems
The first step is to talk to your chapter membership person and explain
the problem and ask for help. After a reasonable amount of time if you
still need help you can call the ABATE State Office at 888-344-4400 or
write to:

Starting a Chapter
To start a chapter you would contact the Regional Coordinator in your
area. To find that information:
Call the toll free number, 1-888-344-4400.
Opening
PDFs
First you want to make sure you have an updated free PDF Reader. These
are free from the Adobe website. The other major reason you may have
trouble opening PDFs is you are not waiting long enough for them to
finish downloading. When you start trying to view it before it is done
downloading they often lock up.
