Legislative Update: Jan 5, 2008

Today was a pretty productive day. I met with the staff people of 8 Senators and all pledged support for S1705, the Confiscation Bill, and there is a possibility that one or more of them may sign on as co-sponsors. I was also assured that the mandatory data recorder bill will not pass the Senate."

"I stopped by Senator Robach's office and he told me he plans to contact DOT to have motorcycle awareness messages posted on the electronic "Amber Alert" signs statewide. We had tried to do this administratively several years ago and got no response from DOT. Hopefully, Senator Robach's request will carry more weight than ours.
